فرس النهر التي عقدت حتى حركة المرو توقف هجرة الحيوانات البرية الضخمة

  بعد التوقف في منتصف النهر

As the huge herds of wildebeest and zebra attempted to cross the Mara River in search of better feeding grounds it wasn't the usual crocodiles that caused a problem- but two tons of angry hippo

How it should go: The animals form an almost orderly queue as they prepare to migrate, after the hippo seemingly gave up on the chase

Out of the way! The hippo stomped and roared at the overwhelming mass of wildlife that overtook his patch

Run! These stunning images show the tremendous energy the wildebeest display as they thunder across the plains

 

You shall not pass! The animals did not dare enter the waters until the hippo finally gave way

Whose that trip-trapping over my river? The unhappy hippo was seemingly annoyed the mass of commuting animals had entered his patch

Traffic warden: The animal would have been mentioned as a major cause of gridlock if traffic reports existed for the millions of wildebeest crossing Kenya's Masai Mara

Would you dare to enter the water? The hippo protects the river with all his might - although one or two animals get either brave or curious

Get off the bank! The wildebeest's migration is always a bit frantic, but this time the hippo added a bit of panic to the proceedings, causing a pile-up as the hippos tried to get out of the water
